Camilo Cayazaya
Camilo is an Indigenous American and mixed race artist with concurrent roles in communications, clinical and public health, and martial arts.
Born in northern Chile and raised between Perth and his birthplace, he now resides in Naarm where he practices ceramics and writes magical realism in both Spanish and English, reflecting on imperialism's impacts and its invisible aftershocks on Latinx migrant and refugee lives.
His work is informed by his love of history, his passion for people's wellbeing, and his obsession with human behaviour, emotions, and irrationality. He also enjoys a good pisco sour and choripan whenever they're available.
