Join us for the official Naarm launch of Hailstones Fell Without Rain, the unforgettable debut novel by Uruguayan–Australian writer Natalia Figueroa Barroso, published by UQP.
Set across Uruguay and Western Sydney, this novel is the first ever written by a Uruguayan-Australian author. It weaves together Spanglish, memory, and mujerismo to tell a multi-generational story of migration, identity, secrets, and survival. Told through the eyes of three working-class women, this is a story that pulses with lyricism, laughter, and resistance.
