As part of Chuleo Club’s winter residency Tardeando at High Note, Yo Soy Collective is bringing back flagship event Fuego to the space, on Thursday August 27th, from 6pm - 8:30pm. Fuego was Yo Soy’s first event as part of Emerging Writer’s Festival in 2018, a night of fuego readings and visual art.

Our lineup features:
Ximena Jiménez is a Peruvian multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Melbourne, working across writing, graphic design, and photography. Their practice explores memory, code-switching, and storytelling, centring collective care and radical joy beyond institutional frameworks.
Suzanne Hermanoczki is a Meanjin/ Brisbane-born, Naarm/ Melbourne-based award-winning writer, creative writing teacher and academic, of Argentine and Hungarian descent. Her work on post/memories, im/migrants, code-switching, gringos and identity, have been published locally and internationally. She holds a PhD, Masters and Postgraduate degrees in Creative Writing. She is co-director of Writing Days.
Camilo Camazaya is a former journalist, dietitian and public health worker, Chilean-Australian writer and public/social sector marketer at his co-founded agency Lodestar Studios. His work centres on how the dreams of Latin American people collide with reality. His spare time goes to jiu jitsu, food, video games, ceramics, and history. Polly Sara is a queer/genderqueer, Chilean-Syrian immigrant who makes independent work on stolen & unceded Wurundjeri land. They are an interdisciplinary theatre maker, performer & writer. Polly has been lucky to learn from the best, having studied with Yoshito Ohno, Barney O’Hanlon, Semimaru, Ellen Lauren, Dairakudakan, Maro Akaji, Steph Kehoe & Anne O’Keeffe. They have previously participated in Our North is the South: The Latin American Literary Initiative, Vignettes: Late Night Literature for Emerging Writer's Festival and has collaborated with Yo Soy in previous publications.
