Vanessa Gatica
Vanessa Gatica is a talented and passionate Mexican creative whose work bridges the worlds of media, storytelling, and handcrafted jewelry. With a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications, she built a strong foundation in audio and video editing, podcast production, and visual communication. Her gift lies not only in creating captivating content, but in telling stories that feel alive, meaningful, and deeply human.
Yet long before media, Vanessa had another love: jewelry making. Taught by her mother in Mexico, jewelry became her first artistic language—the place where intuition, emotion, and heritage met. After moving to Australia, she deepened her craft through silversmithing and 3D jewelry design studies in Melbourne, expanding both her technique and her artistic identity.
This journey led her to found CocoKanela Design—a bohemian-inspired jewelry brand rooted in nature, cultural storytelling, and the energy of gemstones. Each piece reflects Vanessa’s belief that jewelry is more than an accessory—it’s a way to carry intention, identity, and connection. Guided by her Mexican heritage, Vanessa often incorporates symbols and influences from ancient civilizations like the Aztecs and Mayans. These cultural elements blend with her modern boho style to create pieces that are visually striking, spiritually meaningful, and rich in history.
